Give

We love to give - and we give because God first gave to us.

What does the Bible say about giving?

It’s true, tithing is a biblical principle that isn’t just talked about in the Old Testament. God calls each of us to give Him the first 10 percent of our income. When you trust God with your finances, he will bless you. How do we know? At Washington Community Church, we’ve experienced God’s provision first hand. We’ve also seen Him provide abundantly for people in our church, just like you. Oh, and one more thing…it’s in the Bible!

"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it." Malachi 3:10 NIV

Our Giving Priorities

Effective stewardship of God’s resources is a priority to us at Washington Community Church. Additionally, we believe in being transparent about where your money goes. We want you to feel comfortable and have peace of mind that your contribution is truly making a difference in the lives of others. In spite of the pandemic, we were able to reach more people in our community in 2020 than the year before and were able to sow $221,502 in Alexandria and the world. This includes $12,000 to drill the Bible College well in Uganda, $25,164.61 for the Uganda medical clinic outreach, $10,785 to needy pastors and churches around the world, thanksgiving baskets for low income people, special gifts to Mount Vernon High school needy families, Mount Vernon teachers, bath towels for the Kennedy shelter, outreach to Fairfax county police, plus weekly food outreaches for most of the year.
