Contrasting the Two Kingdoms that We Live In

Job 1:8-10 The Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil.” Then Satan answered the Lord, “Does Job fear God for nothing? Have You not made a fence around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land

Malachi 3:10-11 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and put Me to the test now in this,” says the Lord of armies, “if I do not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows. Then I will rebuke the devourer for you…

Luke 8:10 Jesus said, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you,

Secret #1: Everything that God is going to do in your life has already been done and given to us.

Secret #2: God’s kingdom runs by fixed laws that operate automatically when you meet the conditions.

Deuteronomy 28:2, 5, 8 All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God… your basket will be blessed… The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to.

Secret #3 of the kingdom: God’s blessing on your life extends to your savings and investments.

Secret #4 of the kingdom: the blessing of God in your life is contingent on what you set your hands to do.

Limit #1: If you are idle with your hands, God has nothing to bless.

Limit #2: The blessing on your hands is limited to where you choose to put your hands.

the average manager at McDonalds makes $68,996 a year

2 Kings 4:3-6 Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.”

She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.”
But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing.

Average Salary in the US:
Average door to door salesman:     $37,839
pharmaceutical sales representative: $94,617

Limit #3: God’s blessing on your hands is limited to how you choose to work.

Ephesians 6:7-8 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do

For God’s blessing to fall on you at your job, there are two conditions: work wholeheartedly and work as if you were working for the Lord.

Matthew 6:24-34 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? … For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Jesus tells us that in earthly kingdoms pagans run after money, clothing, food, mortgage and bill paying. We are to run after the God’s kingdom.

The system you trust to meet your need is where your treasure will be and it will be your master.

Jesus said, “Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?”

The purpose of life is that your things serve you and your assignment on the earth.

My child arrived just the other day He came to the world in the usual way But there were planes to catch and bills to pay He learned to walk while I was away And he was talking 'fore I knew it and as he grew He'd say, "I'm gonna be like you, dad You know, I'm gonna be like you"

My son turned ten just the other day He said, "Thanks for the ball, dad, come on, let's play Can you teach me to throw?" I said, "Not today I got a lot to do" he said, "That's okay" And he walked away but his smile never dimmed Said, "I'm gonna be like him, yeah You know, I'm gonna be like him"

I've long since retired and my sons moved away I called him up just the other day I said, "I'd like to see you if you don't mind" He said, "I'd love to, dad, if I could find the time" "You see, my new job's a hassle and the kids got the flu But it's sure nice talking to you, dad It's been sure nice talking to you"

Under the law of the Spirit of life, God directly provided two things: provision and purpose.

Genesis 2:8-12 Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden was the tree of life… A river watering the garden flowed from Eden… The gold of that land is good; aromatic resin and onyx are also there.

Genesis 2:15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.

Genesis 3:17-19 Then to Adam He said… Cursed is the ground because of you; In toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. "Both thorns and thistles shall grow for you; and you will eat the plants of the field; by the sweat of your face you will eat bread,

Under the curse, the weight of provision fell to Adam, not God.

“That’s not ____________.”

-Only 2% of the houses in America are paid off.
-The average American family spends 131% of their disposable income on debt payments.
-Most marriages fall apart from financial pressure.

Genesis 12:2-3 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you
