Verse #1 Matthew 1:18 “This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.”
Verse #2 v. 19 “But because Joseph her husband was faithful to the Law, and … did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.”
Verse #3 Matthew 1:20-21 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
1st : am I going to please God with my life or am I going to try to please people with my life?

2 Corinthians 5:9 “So we make it our goal to please him.”
2nd : Pleasing people first is wrong because it will make me miss God’s purpose for me.

1 Thessalonians 2:4 “Our purpose is to please God, not people.” That’s your purpose in life. God didn’t put you here on earth to please other people. Our purpose is to please God, not people. “He is the one who examines the motives of the heart.”
3rd: But when God is big in our lives, people have less power in our lives.

John 5:44 “You try to get praise from each other, but you do not try to get the praise that comes from the only God. So how can you believe?”
