Build Your Unshakable Family-2
Why Would God ask Me to Do That?
Ephesians 5:22-33 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church— for we are members of his body. "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
Psalm 107:20 He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.
The number one reason why God has commands us what to do with our spouse is to make us attractive to our spouse and cause them to open their hearts to us.
God says to the wives: wives submit to your husbands as to the Lord.
Ephesians 5:21-22 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.
Psalm 100:4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise Give thanks to Him, bless His name.
Psalm 22:3 Yet You are holy, O You who are enthroned upon the praises of Israel.
I Peter 3:1-5 Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives. when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful. They were submissive to their own husbands,
Men gravitate to the places where they get the most honor and run from the places where they are dishonored.
The number one need of a woman is security. They need to feel that their needs are going to be met by a sacrificial and sensitive man.
Women respond to character.
When God tells men to care for and sacrifice for your wife, He is making you attractive to her; and when we refuse to do this, we make ourselves unattractive to them.
How to fall in love: she honors him and he knocks himself out for her. How to fall out of love: women stop honoring their husbands, and husbands stop nurturing and caring for their wives.
The second reason why God tells us to do these things in Ephesians 5 is that they release the potential inside our spouse.
Genesis 2:18 The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."
A 48 year old married man has a 90% chance of reaching the age of 65.
A 48 year old single man has only a 60% chance of reaching the age of 65.
Ephesians 5:28-29 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it
The number one responsibility of every man is bring his wife to her full potential-to fulfill why God created her in her mother’s womb.
In Ephesians 5, God uses two words to describe how men are to help their wives: ‘feed’ and ‘care.’
Feed=feed to maturity.
Care= to keep warm.
Ephesians 2:4-7 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions… And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
When you look at a woman, she is reflecting her husband’s personality.
I Corinthians 11:7 the woman is the glory of man.
God tells women to submit to and honor their husbands even before they are honorable.
‘Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.’
I Peter 3:6 just as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord,
A good husband is like a greenhouse. He creates an atmosphere for his wife to feed her and protect her so that regardless of what is happening in the world around her, she is secure and her needs are getting met.
Galatians 5:24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.
Men, we have to crucify the desire to be out to lunch. Women, you have to crucify the desire to be independent.
