Luke 5:17 One day He was teaching; and there were some Pharisees and teachers of the law
sitting there, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem; and
the power of the Lord was present for Him to perform healing.
Luke 17:12-14 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at
a distance and called out in a loud voice, "Jesus, Master, have pity on us! When he saw them,
he said, " Go, show yourselves to the priests" And as they went, they were cleansed.
Luke 18:35-43 As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging.
When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening. They told him, “Jesus of
Nazareth is passing by.” He called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Those who
led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David,
have mercy on me!”
Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him,
“What do you want me to do for you?”
“Lord, I want to see,” he replied.
Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his
sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.
First Step: Jesus must be near.
As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. When he heard
the crowd going by, he asked what was happening. They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing
by.”
Psalm 73:27-28 Those who are far from you will perish; you destroy all who are unfaithful to
you. But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will
tell of all your deeds.
Isaiah 29:13 The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me
with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.
James 4:8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and
purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Psalm 145:18 The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
Psalm 85:9 Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land.
Exodus 20:20 the fear of God will be with you to keep you from sinning.”
Psalm 33:18 But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his
unfailing love,
Psalm 112:1-3 Blessed are those who fear the LORD, who find great delight in his commands.
Their children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth
and riches are in their houses, and their righteousness endures forever.
Psalm 24:3-4 Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? The
one who has clean hands and a pure heart
Isaiah 35:5-6, 8-9 Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped.
Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy… And a highway will be
there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that Way. The
unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it. No lion will be there, nor any
ravenous beast; they will not be found there. But only the redeemed will walk there,
James 1:21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly
accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
Jesus has forgiven all our sins, but for some reason after we have been cleansed of sin, we
allow moral filth and evil in our lives. It always interferes with God moving in our lives.
Isaiah 59:1-3 Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.
But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you,
so that he will not hear.
Step Two: Recognize that Jesus is Your Healer.
When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening. They told him, “Jesus of
Nazareth is passing by.” He called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!
Exodus 15:26 I am the LORD, who heals you.”
Matthew 9:27-28 As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, “Have
mercy on us, Son of David!” When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he
asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they replied.
Step Three: He cried out in faith.
He called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
2 Corinthians 4:13 And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I
believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak.
Your faith does not begin to work until you begin to talk.
Mark 5:25-28 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was
nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
for she had been saying, “If I can only touch his clothes, I will be healed.”.
Proverbs 18:21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its
fruit.
Isaiah 57:19 I create the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace to him who is far off and to him who is
near,” Says the LORD, “ And I will heal him.”
v. 5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
Step Four: Opposition arises to try to stop God from working in our life
.
Job 2:9 His wife said to him, “Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!”
vv. 8-10 Jesus said to him, "Get up, pick up your pallet and walk."Immediately the man became
well, and picked up his pallet and began to walk. Now it was the Sabbath on that day. So the
Jews were saying to the man who was cured, "It is the Sabbath, and it is not permissible for you
to carry your pallet."
Matthew 15:3 And He answered and said to them, "Why do you yourselves transgress the
commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?"
Often our traditions stop God from moving in our lives.
James 5:15-16 Confess your faults one to another [now, today], and pray one for another, that
ye may be heated. The promise is, The prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise
him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
2 Peter 3:9 He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Luke 13:5 Except you repent, you shall ALL likewise perish.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness.
Isaiah 53:4-5 Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished
by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed
for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are
healed.
Step Five: Don’t give up-keep on believing, keep on shouting what you believe.
He called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Those who led the way rebuked him
and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Mark 5:35-36 While Jesus was still speaking, some men came from the house of Jairus, the
synagogue ruler."Your daughter is dead," they said. "Why bother the teacher any more?
Overhearing but ignoring what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, Do not be
seized with alarm and struck with fear; only keep on believing.
Romans 4:20-21 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was
strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do
what he had promised.
Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change
his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?
Matthew 11:12 From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers
violence, and violent men take it by force.
Step Six: Focus on your miracle. I can see it in my life.
Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him,
“What do you want me to do for you?”
“Lord, I want to see,” he replied.
Mark 11:24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you
receive them, and you will have them.
Step Seven: Receive your miracle.
James 1:6,7 But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the
surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For that man ought not to expect that he will
receive anything from the Lord,
There must be a specific time when we detonate our faith.
Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received
it, and it will be yours.
