Notes for
Receiving Your Promise in 2024-4
Growing My Faith
I John 5:14-15 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let Us make mankind in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule…
The first key to growing your faith is understanding the process of how faith grows in us.
Mark 4:13 Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable?
Mark 4:26-29 Jesus also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.”
Mark 4:14 The farmer sows the word.
God’s word and God’s promises are like seeds in our life.
Psalm 103:2-3 Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
Luke 5:22 Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?
We sow the word or promise of God in our mind.
Joshua 1:8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
The seed of God’s word will grow and produce fruit automatically whether or not the person knows how it happens.
Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how.
We don’t have to know or understand how God is going to make the promise happen for it to happen.
I Corinthians 2:14 But a natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
“Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” Peter answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything.
The promise isn’t dependent on our power or ability.
Mark 4:26-29 He also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like.
Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
John 11:38-40 Jesus, once more deeply moved, came to the tomb. It was a cave with a stone laid across the entrance. “Take away the stone,” he said.
“But, Lord,” said Martha, the sister of the dead man, “by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days.”
Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”
It is your faith in that promise that grows and eventually will produce your miracle.
Only when the plant is fully grown and the fruit is fully grown do you qualify to receive your miracle.
Mark 4:29 As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.”
Mark 4:29 As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.”
Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
John 11:25-27 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe
Matthew 9:28 When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they replied.
The first key is that you have to believe that you have already received the thing God promised BEFORE you actually see it in your life.
Romans 10:9-10 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
Romans 4:17 As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.”
Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, "So shall your offspring be… Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God… being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.
Faith uses the past tense-Abraham believed that he received when God gave him the promise.
