Becoming An Issachar Generation-4
Rising Against Culture’s Voice for Our Families
I Chronicles 12:32 from Issachar, men who understood the times and knew what Israel should do
Matthew 13:33 He told them still another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough.”
2 Timothy 3:1,3 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves… without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers,
God is warning us that in the last days life will be characterized by the deterioration of the family and home.
Ephesians 5:15-16 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Redeeming the time means that with God’s help and wisdom we can actually find divine ideas to buy back the time we have lost in the past.
Job 19:25 “As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, And at the last He will take His stand on the earth.
Job 42:10-17 the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before…The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part… And he also had seven sons and three daughters… Nowhere in all the land were there found women as beautiful as Job’s daughters… After this, Job … saw his children and their children to the fourth generation. And so Job died, an old man and full of years.
Redeeming the time means that we invite God into our family life on a daily basis.
Deuteronomy 6:6-9 Msg Write these commandments that I’ve given you today on your hearts. Get them inside of you and then get them inside your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning to when you fall into bed at night. Tie them on your hands and foreheads as a reminder; inscribe them on the doorposts of your homes and on your city gates.
If you want good things to come out of your children, you have to supersaturate them with God and His word: talk about them when you sit at home, when you’re driving down the road, when you go to bed and when you get up.
Instill in your children the fear and reverence for God.
Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge
The fear of the Lord is more caught than taught-they pick it up from your lifestyle.
Redeem your time by making your supper meaningful.
Redeem your time by having a 5-10 minute devotional time with your children before they go to bed.
Redeem your time when your children are older by spending special time with them-dates, vacations, and road trips.
Redeem your time with older children by praying for them and allowing God to speak to you about each of them while you are praying.
